Melbourne Hyrox 2026

December 12, 2026 Sydney, NSW

Hyrox hopeful fighting Cancer

About this campaign

I’m lining up for BYD HYROX Melbourne, 9–13 December 2026 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre — and I’m lining up with my doubles partner, Matt. I’m not racing for a PB. I’m racing because I was diagnosed with high-grade bladder cancer — and I refuse to let that be the last word. HYROX is 8 kilometres of running broken up by 8 stations: ski erg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, row, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, wall balls. It’s brutal on a good day. Doing it after a cancer diagnosis is something else. That’s why this is doubles, and that’s why it’s Matt. I need a partner who will share the work when my body is tired, hold the pace when my head is noisy, and stand next to me when we cross that line. Matt isn’t a passenger. He’s the person who understands that every station is a statement: I am still here, I am still training, and I am still fighting. I’m also asking for sponsorship, because this race is bigger than two people in a start wave. Travel, entries, kit, recovery, and the cost of actually showing up all add up. More importantly, I want every logo on that kit and every dollar behind this campaign to go toward cancer research — so the next person who hears “high-grade bladder cancer” has better options than I did. This is not a sympathy run. It’s a fundraiser with a finish line. Sponsorship gets Matt and me to Melbourne. Racing gets the story in front of thousands of athletes, spectators, and cameras. Donations turn that noise into research. If you come in as a sponsor, your name rides with both of us through every kilometre and every station. I was diagnosed. I trained anyway. Matt signed on to race it with me. In December we’re going to Melbourne to beat this thing in public — and to raise money so science can beat it for good. If you want in, we want you in. Sponsor us. Share this. Help us make the start line count for something.

My story

Krystal Perkins has spent years rebuilding her body and her life. A veteran who served seven years in the Royal Australian Air Force as an officer, she brought that same discipline into a long personal battle with her weight and an injury that knocked her down — and now into the fight of her life. Krystal was recently diagnosed with high grade bladder cancer. She's currently in therapy to beat it back for good — and instead of slowing down, she's training for Hyrox and preparing to race in Melbourne as an athlete, using the race to raise funds and awareness for cancer. Weight loss, cancer, competition — for Krystal, every stage has been the same fight: refusing to let her body's setbacks decide her story.
